For potential heart attack victims, our Emergency Departments at Bay Area and Doctors Regional can receive 12-lead EKGs from EMS providers while they are transporting patients to the hospital. This alerts the Cardiac Catheterization Lab and surgical teams, which are on standby 24/7. Heart attack patients often can bypass the ER and go right to the cath lab, saving precious minutes.
